One year ago, first Marmo party in town. Thirty three years ago, its man behind was born. Time to celebrate…
Hailing from Sao Paolo Brazil, The Edge Club residents Ale Reis (aka Nomumbah / Dubshape) and Renee Mussi (aka Idee) are presenting Stekke, their new studio project for their forthcoming vinyl label, Sketches, for which they are currently preparing an album.
The duo will be adventuring into a 4hrs dj journey landing on varied dance territories, proving a highly eclectic selection, ranging from early house, Detroit techno and NY garage, heavily inspired by dub, folk and IDM sounds.
Ale Reis, considered a heavyweight of Brazilian underground scene, reached world-wide recognition through his records as Dubshape and Nomumbah for Kompakt, Yoruba, Strictly Rhythm and Soul Jazz. Following the steps of his mentor Ale, Renee has emerged as very talented and versatile disc jockey, prized in 2012 by RMC Festival (Rio Music Conference) as best Brazilian Dj.
In the bill also the Marmo home heroes Nikolaos Symeonidis aka Moire Patterns and Rufus.
Moire Patterns recently presented his “Homeless House” live concept at Propaganda Moscow with devastating and euphoric effects on the crowd. For the occasion he will perform a enriched live set, armed with bass guitar, his beloved SH-101 Yamaha synthesizer and a drum machine.
Rufus has been coming from a pretty hectic studio time, shaping the new project Nightdrivers together with fellow Mass Prod, backing house and techno burners which will first see the light this autumn on a full 12″ on Bosconi Records.
Busy also his recent dj schedule, amazingly rocking Watergate opening for Jerome Sydenham and later this month at Propaganda in Moscow.

21.06.13 MARMO MUSIC Vs. MELT LONDON @ WILDE RENATE
ARNAUD LE TEXIER
[Children Of Tomorrow, Melt Music]
THE ANALOG ROLAND ORCHESTRA LIVE
[Ornaments, Rotary Cocktail]
[Wo_Land, Bosconi Records]
Marmo Music takes over Wilde Renate joining forces with the London party brand Melt Music, a synonym of selective underground house within the English capital`s scene.
Special guest is Arnaud Le Texier, Melt Music resident and much more.
His history starts far back in the days, running one of the best record stores in Paris and becoming resident at Paris` Queen Club in the second half of the 90ties, when the club was its best.
After founding Atcha Recordings and Safari Electronique, platforms aiming to preserve and further develop his un-compromising and experimental taste for electronic music, in 2005 Arnaud moves to London in search of new motivation. Pretty fast his amazing dj skills and spot-on selecta grabbed the attention of the local scene, leading him to regular slots at Fabric, T-Bar, Kubicle and Secret Sundaze among others.
With a particular instinct in scouting “next-big talents”, Arnaud has developed a certain ability to anticipate and shape the taste of the scene. Through Safari first and his newer imprint Children Of Tomorrow later, he has signed or reconfirmed artists like Delete, Jonny D, Rodhad, Terrence Dixon and Antonio De Angelis, before they reached higher popularity.
After releasing for a number of wide-known labels like 20:20 Vision, Cocoon Recordings and Bass Culture, Arnaud has found in Children Of Tomorrow and in the studio project Detect Audio (with fellow Antonio De Angelis) a natural habitat where to express his deep and industrial visions, where to embark in techno journeys at the edge of the stratosphere.
With heavyweights like Dettman, Rodhad and Ben Klock, regularly dropping his tracks more than once a set, we can firmly state that Arnaud Le Texier has become a key player of the techno scene.
The Analog Roland Orchestra, the one-man band who released one of the most acclaimed albums of 2012, “Home” on Ornaments, can handle analog machines like very few out there.
Recently remixed by Redshape on Ornaments, it`s out beginning of June with a new EP for Rotary Cocktail, two tracks of deep dubby orgasmic techno… and there is no better occasion than this to celebrate the new record.
Expect a live of major damage, straight machine sound between acid, deep and kraut-infected house music…
Mass Prod, already protagonist of a legendary live set for Marmo @ Loftus Hall last April the 4th, will be full of new energy, records and inspirations after his recent appearances at Circoloco Detroit and Resolute New York.
After recently dropping an experimental ambient debut album for Seattle label Further, Mass Prod has been lately partnering in studio with fellow Rufus of Bosconi for a new exciting house-techno project called Night Drivers.
04.04.13 Marmo Music presents J VELEZ aka Professor Genius LIVE
Thursday 04 April 2013
J VELEZ aka PROFESSOR GENIUS :: LIVE :: L.I.E.S, Rush Hour
MASS PROD :: LIVE :: Wo_land, Bosconi Records
RUFUS :: Bosconi Records
VINCENT MANFUOCO :: Marmo Music
From 23:00 / 5 Euro entry @ Loftus Hall, Maybachufer 48, 12045 Berlin
Following the epic return of Cab Drivers live at the last event, on April the 4th we strike back Loftus Hall with a very marmoreal guest and we honestly couldn`t go for a better choice.
Hailing from New Jersey, US, we welcome Jorge Velez, aka Professor Genius, for his only and exclusive Berlin gig of this European tour.
Moved by the love for synthesizers` sound, after playing keyboard in a post-punk band until the mid-nineties, Velez completely dedicated himself to electronic solo projects. Since then he has been creating his own diverse music, ranging from disco, releasing for the cult Italo revival imprint Italians Do It Better, to the the ambient and techno journeys for L.I.E.S and MMT Tapes.
It`s with the mysterious self-released MMT Tapes series of limited 12” that only recently Jorge Velez amazed the world, to the point that Rush Hour collected it into a double LP. This material, home-recorded between 1996 and 1999, stands out even today as a unique expression of sci-fi, futuristic house and techno, blending Drexcyan submarine mythology with Chicago House and the dreamy atmospheres of classic European synthesizer music. With that, J Velez clearly states that house music cannot be restricted to its functions of dancing only.
The influence of 70ties and 80ties synth experiments becomes more clear with his output as Professor Genius, in albums like A Jean Giraud (2007) and the recent Hassan for Ron Morelli`s Long Island Electrical Systems (L.I.E.S.), becoming already a timeless gem of cinematic ambient music.
In Hassan, Jorge pretends to play the part of an early 80ties Italian producer that armed with a bunch of machines wants to create the soundtrack for a movie about a cult of assassins in 13th century Persia. The movie actually does not exsist, it`s only a plot-line in Velez`s head.
More than ever, this example proves that Velez is more than an electronic producer. In music he also conveys the deep passion for films and figurative art. He likes to draw while listening to tons of music. We guess this process follows up and results eventually into creating sound compositions of immense imaginative power.
To conclude, the question comes natural, what the hell is he going to play for us at Loftus Hall ? There is no answer to this, there is no answer to the Genius` mystery. We can only wait impatiently to that night.
He declares that every live set sounds different to the other. This is enough to excite us already!
MASS PROD – Wo_Land :: Bosconi Records
New entry in the Marmo roster MASS PROD is going to present his new live performance.
Inebriated by the recent starting of Wo_Land, his own electronica and experimental label, Mass Prod will implement a new set up and heaps of new ideas from his hyper- prolific studio work.
Crowd mover, party king and Circoloco resident at DC10 for the last two summers, Martino has been scoring a bunch of impressively raw and eccentric cuts for Bosconi Records, Kontra Music and MUS.
BUT, forget about his discography for a night and be ready to be surprised by a highly eclectic show, made of mostly unreleased material, ranging from spaced-out electronics, mind-tricking arrangements and tape-recorded techno filth.
We bet that most of the stuff you`ll hear from him that night will see the light in the close future…

February the 22nd is a special day, and Marmo will turn it into a special night, for different reasons.
We are celebrating Nikolaos Moire Patterns` birthday, which coincides with the release of his Album Teaser 12” for Claap Records. For the occasion, our man will prepare a very unique dj set with lots of unreleased material from these months of productive fertility.
Birthday bash also for Mitch, owner of the cult Berlin record store Melting Point, a real house music connaisseur, whose selection won`t save anyone from amazement and joy for grooving.
Very special guests of the night are CAB DRIVERS and we are extremely honored to have them playing a brand new live set for the first time in 10 years !!!
Berlin house pioneers Cab Drivers are Dj Zky & Daniel Paul, founders in the mid-90ties of seminal label Cabinet Records, among the very first to forge a stripped-down, percussion-driven, yet raw and spontaneous esthetic in house and techno sound.
They have released 6 vinyl 12-inches and many other classic cuts under the names of Compass, Horseshoe, Warten Borgmann & The Poor Knight . In 2006 Richie Hawtin picked the cream of the Cabinet`s repertoire, collecting it into a 2 x 12” and CD compilation released on Plus 8, which has become an essential must-have. Later more tracks from the duo got pressed on DAP, Seasons Limited 1, Sonar Kollektiv, Pokerflat, Highgrade and Sharivari Records.
In 2013 new releases are planed for Cabinet Records and the legendary Daniel Bell`s imprint 7th City…
